Inspiring animal tales
By Nancy Nguyen
There are about 70 million animals living on the street with no family or home. According to Google, for cats alone there are 70 million cats in need of a home. Animals have done so much for so many people, now many people are doing the favor back.
In San Antonio, Texas a fish aquarium employee helps a little gold fish that has been struggling to swim in the tank. This fish has a permanent bladder disorder and this fish has been trapped on the bottom of the tank. The goldfish’s bladder disorder affected the way the fish can float in water. On March 10, 2017 a 19-year-old employee worker Taylor Nicole Dean, created a special wheelchair for the fish. Taylor used extra tubes, pieces of string, and a piece of Styrofoam. With only a few materials, a fish can go from the bottom of the tank to going to swim freely around anywhere it wants to in the tank!
In Brooklyn, New York about 340 bunnies were rescued from people who abandoned their bunny or were found from the streets. Since it is very cold outside, the bunnies need a warm and safe home to stay. The NYPD, New York Police and the ASPCA, American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals teamed up to rescue the bunnies. Some bunnies were found locked in cages/hutches and many had burrowed under the freezing cold ground.
Dorota Trec was the owner and she was charged with animal cruelty in November 2016. A few months later she was sentenced to jail for 45 days and a three-year probation. To make sure the bunnies were healthy the ASPCA team checked the bunnies to be sure that they are clean and in good shape.

These facts will blow your mind and who knows maybe you will learn something that you never knew before. Animals impact many people and they can be very helpful in many cases too.

Snowden: Spilled the beans
By Kailey Lewia
Edward Snowden was American computer specialist. You may have heard about Snowden a bit in the past three years, and more recently due to the new movie, or maybe this is the first you’ve heard of him. The 33-year-old former Central Intelligence Agency employee (who was 30 at the time) copied and leaked classified information from the National Security Agency or NSA.
In 2013, Snowden had obtained a position in the NSA. On May 20th of that year, he left the NSA facility in Hawaii and flew off to Hong Kong, revealing thousands of classified documents to Glenn Greenwald, Ewen MacAskill and Laura Poitras, all journalists who used this information in newspaper stories for The Washington Post, The Guardian, The New York Times and more. The information he leaked was regarding global surveillance and the fact that American citizens had been being 'spied on' so to speak.
Later in that very same year, Snowden had been charged with theft of government property, unauthorized communication of information regarding the national defense, as well as willfully communicated with unauthorized person about highly classified intelligence. Due to these criminal charges, Snowden left the country seeking temporary asylum in Russia and he was meant to stay there for one year, though he still remains there today. Despite criminal charges, he has been awarded the Sam Adams Award for being committed to truth and integrity, the Right Livelihood Award for offering the most practical and exemplary answers to challenges facing our communities today, and the Stuttgart Peace Award for efforts towards peace, justice, and world solidarity.
While what Snowden did is undoubtedly illegal, there is clear controversy on whether he is really the hero or in fact the antagonist in this situation.

Five Nights at Freddy's: A game series
By Malakai Smith
For a long time kids and grownups alike have loved being jump scared by Freddy Fazbear and his animatronics pals. In 2014 Scott Cawthon created a video game called 5 Nights' at Freddy's. This gaming series is a point and click video game centered on jump scares. There are five main games in this series and also a spin off novel.
Here's a little about the game. Five Nights' at Freddy's is a horror video game that involves Freddy Fazbear the main antagonist and his animatronics pals. In the first game you are attacked by Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Golden Freddy. The second game has a similar feel as the first, but the characters are withered and their new improvements are plastic bodies with rosey cheeks. Also this game has some new characters like; The Mangle, The Puppet and Balloon Boy (BB). Believe it or not, in the third game there is only one new character and his name is Springtrap. Then there are the same animatronics that we had to defend ourselves are back as nightmares with three new characters Plushtrap, Nightmare, Nightmare Fredbear.
A quote from Scott Cawthon's Steam page about the newly released game on October 7th, 2016 said this game is like... ¨Welcome to Circus Baby's Pizza World, where family fun and interactivity go beyond anything you've seen at those *other* pizza places! Now hiring: Late-night-technician. Must enjoy cramped spaces and be comfortable around active machinery. Not responsible for death or dismemberment.¨ It certainly could make this game sound fun.
So if you are into jump scares and mildly gory fun, then this game is for you! I give this game a 5 out 5 stars!
